Charm Is Deceptive

In a land far away, there lived a girl who laid her head in a meadow. She lived there for many years, but never once came across the abandon tower, that is until she saw it in the far off distance hidden between the trees from where she sat on her favorite wooden swing.  She swayed through the trees to reach this place of mystery. She didn't see it any more. Before she was about to give up, she walked through two tall oak trees and suddenly a huge shadow casted over her. The young girl slowly lifted her eyes to what was above her. Standing at 20 feet tall was the abandon tower. It was lonely and dim. With curiosity jumping through her bones she began to climb the vines that clung to the tower. Making her way up she finally came across the only window of the tower. She put her hand up to her eyes to shield them from the beaming light that came from what was inside. When she looked inside she couldn't believe what she saw. Inside were the finest of jewels and crystal mirrors. There wasn't an inch of the room that didn't shine and glisten, but as her eyes traced the room she did see a dimmer spot that wasn't blinding with light. she made her way through the window and across the room through all of the riches until she stood before the dullness which she found was a wooden crate. She gently opened the mundane box and found a love letter. It read, "Dearest, you are more valuable than gold and finer than rubies. Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised." The tower didn't need to be covered in fine gold or decorated with jewels to be found special. It stood firmly on the earth and even though it held the finest jewels in the world, that wooden crate held something priceless that riches couldn't buy and replace. What was found was a heart that was true and beautiful not because of material things to disguise itself to measure its worth, but because of something far more beautiful and valuable hidden inside. The things of the world are fleeting and temporary, but one who loves the Lord with all their heart is far more beautiful and worthy of praise. The girl left the riches and climbed back down the tower and returned to her meadow not forgetting what she had learned. Although the room seemed to be lit because the shine of the jewels, it wasn't in comparison to the words on that letter. Those words lit up her heart brighter than all the jewels in the world could and her heart was glad.
