Charm Is Deceptive

In a land far away, there lived a girl who laid her head in a meadow. She lived there for many years, but never once came across the abandon tower, that is until she saw it in the far off distance hidden between the trees from where she sat on her favorite wooden swing.  She swayed through the trees to reach this place of mystery. She didn't see it any more. Before she was about to give up, she walked through two tall oak trees and suddenly a huge shadow casted over her. The young girl slowly lifted her eyes to what was above her. Standing at 20 feet tall was the abandon tower. It was lonely and dim. With curiosity jumping through her bones she began to climb the vines that clung to the tower. Making her way up she finally came across the only window of the tower. So the sailor decided to leave when suddenly he was shot up in the air about 100 feet. He began screaming and when he was being drawn back down to earth with the nature of gravity he saw that he was about to dive head f...

The Story Teller, the Artist, and the Reader

This assignment taught me that pictures can speak just as much as words can. Looking back at old drawings I saved from past students, I can see now that it wasn't just scribbles and lines. Their work had meaning and a story to tell. It was a story that they created or visioned in their own minds and was able to project it onto paper and do so without a single word. I enjoy writing, but I don't feel as though I am a writer. I enjoy journaling and using pictures to express my thoughts and feelings.
